“I finish fights!!”
Kenny Florian has fought for the UFC title for the third time and has failed to take the gold once again. At this point even Kenflo has to admit that was his last chance to get it done. Most fighters go their entire careers without one chance at the belt. Less have a second. Jon Fitch is still fighting to get another crack at Georges St-Pierre. Throughout the history of the UFC I can’t think of any one fighter who has had 3 title shots and lost all three whether in the same weight class or spread out. While that might look like a negative, the truth is it speaks volumes about his character, discipline, and work ethic.

“The mark of a great player is in his ability to come back. The great champions have all come back from defeat.”
Hello folks and welcome to another edition of Kenny’s Korner. It’s been awhile so lets get right into it. UFC 137 has a great main event. Carlos Condit will be meeting up with reigning champ and Canadian folk hero Georges St. Pierre. This was a replacement fight to the Nick Diaz/GSP fight that was already in place before Dana made the switch after Nick missed a press conference. While I am perhaps one of the biggest Nick Diaz fans around, this fight is so much more interesting. And not just because Read more »
If money titles meant anything, I’d play more tournaments. The only thing that means a lot to me is winning. If I have more wins than anybody else and win more majors than anybody else in the same year, then it’s been a good year.
Welcome to another edition of Kenny’s Korner and whatever the hell I feel like talking about. This week it is Strikeforce and what the Grand Prix should have been. Granted it wasn’t going to be perfect but at this point I don’t think any of us can believe what a clusterfuck it has become. So without further ado let’s count the things it could have been:

Melvin Guillard AKA The Young Assassin, needs to be reevaluated. Heavily. I think it’s all been ingrained in our minds to remember a young 22 year old kid who was running his mouth on the second season of TUF only to be eliminated in his first fight. “Do you know who I am?” still rings in our ears every time we think of the guy. He made a lot of rookie mistakes as well when he first came into the UFC. Running his mouth too much and getting shown up against the vets like Read more »
With Junior Dos Santos’ masterful performance against Shane Carwin we have an excellent match-up between two young monsters. We have never had a situation like this before in the UFC. Two guys under 30 at heavyweight. competing at a high level and with so much room to improve. I’m telling you this, without a doubt they will fight again. It doesn’t matter who wins or how they win, within a year and a half they will fight each other again. Barring injury of course but these two guys are clearly the best in the UFC’s heavyweight division. But of course there is the question; who’s going to win? Well once again you come to me to break this thing down head to head. Read more »
