Shooter and Scorcho run down what may have been the best weekend in MMA history! UFC 139, Bellator 58, Strikeforce Challengers 20, and M-1 Global: Fedor vs. Monson make up this week’s show.
At the March 19th Gladiator Challenge event. Longtime target of MMA fan’s hatred Cecil People proved his versatility by showing that he can do more than just screw up a judge’s card in this fight between Mike Gonzalez and Owen Rubio. After a round and a half of some sloppy, sloppy MMA. Owen Rubio clearly taps out due to what appears to be some sort of modified kimura by Gonzalez. “The Peeps” gleefully disregards this tapout, and when Gonzalez releases the hold because he thought he won the fight, Rubio capitalizes. After thirty more seconds of winded strikes by Rubio, Cecil stops the fight and awards him the win. Gonzalez is left at the end of the fight wondering what in the hell happened. Hopefully this kid got it overturned into a no contest at least. Way to go, Cecil!
